Zelensky names bill on removal of immunity for public officials among first acts to be considered by new Rada

KYIV. July 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that a bill on the removal of immunity for public officials will be amongst the first documents he would like to see considered by the new Rada.

"Among the first ones, because there won't be just one draft bill [considered] on the first day [of the new Rada]. We all need to finally remove the immunity," Zelensky told reporters after casting his ballot at a polling station in Kyiv. Ukrainians are voting in an early parliamentary election on Sunday.

The new Verkhovna Rada must be a body associated with honesty and effectiveness, he added. "It must be honest and one that works," Zelensky said.
