Ukrainian parliamentary election competitive, without abuses in general - OSCE mission leader

KYIV. July 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian early parliamentary election held on July 21 was competitive, the OSCE mission said.

The electoral campaign was competitive, and in general, there were no abuses, Ilkka Kanerva, Special Coordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE observer mission told a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

Kanerva highlighted that the election was held in a peaceful environment.

The electoral campaign took place in an atmosphere of fair competition and attracted a broad spectrum of political views, he said.

However, he said that campaign financing was not quite as transparent as it should have been.
