MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - The Russian national team will be able to meet the competition at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said.

"We're not thinking about trials and disputes, the team is calmly training and is participating in qualification. I can say that the team will be able to meet the competition at the Tokyo Olympics. We can see that we will be eligible for medals in the majority of sports, even in those where we had no results some time ago," Kolobkov told journalists on Wednesday.

"We have now formed a pool of athletes who will seriously be eligible for medals. We will be able to meet the competition in 20 sports," he said.

The 2020 Summer Olympic Games will take place on July 24-August 9.
