Over 500 cases opened into violations during Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada electoral campaign - Interior Ministry

KYIV. July 26 (Interfax) - The police have registered 10,600 statements and reports of violations at the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada elections; 516 criminal cases were opened, Ukrainian First Deputy Interior Minister Serhiy Yaroviy said.

"There have been no systematic breaches of the public order. There were violations in relation to the electoral campaign. A total of 10,600 statements and reports of violations have been registered, 516 criminal cases have been opened, some 1,500 administrative protocols have been compiled," the Ukrainian National Police's website cited Yaroviy as saying at a teleconference on Friday.

The snap Verkhovna Rada elections took place on July 21.
