Prosecutors to oversee operation, repairs of airplanes in Russia - prosecutor general

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika has demanded that monitoring be introduced over the operation and repairs of airplanes.

"It's important for transport prosecutors to monitor the implementation of transport infrastructure development programs and oversee compliance with the rules for the operation of airplanes and transport facilities, as well as their timely and high-quality repair," Chaika said on Tuesday at a meeting of the board of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office summing up the results of the first half of the year.

"Supervisory agencies should also ensure customs authorities' compliance with legal requirements during the customs handling and checking of commodities moved across the border," he said.
