FAS approves Kuzbassenergo's request to purchase Reftinskaya GRES from Enel Russia

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS) has approved Kuzbassenergo's request to purchase the Reftinskaya GRES from Enel Russia , the deputy head of the FAS, Vitaly Korolyov, told Interfax through his representative.

Kuzbassenergo is part of Andrei Melnichenko's Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK).

Korolyov said that SUEK is still not represented in the first pricing zone (European Russia and the Urals). The crossflows between pricing zones are such that additional anti-monopoly measures are needed to prevent price manipulation, in which connection "instructions of a behavioral nature" were issued for a period of five years, he said.

Kuzbassenergo holds a dominant position in the second pricing zone (Siberia), Korolyov added: it accounts for 21.8% of installed capacity and 22.6% of power generation there
