ARAF sends IAAF 324 applications for Russian track and field athletes wishing to compete as neutrals
MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF) has received 332 applications from Russian track and field athletes wishing to compete in international competitions as neutral athletes, ARAF told Interfax.
"ARAF has received 332 applications from Russian track and field athletes. Of those, 324 applications have been submitted to IAAF [International Association of Athletics Federations]," an ARAF press officer said.
IAAF suspended ARAF's membership in November 2015 amid a doping scandal. Since December 2016, in implementation of an IAAF decision, Russian track and field athletes have been participating in international tournaments under the neutral status by permission of IAAF.
