National Guard officer hospitalized after opposition rally in Moscow
MOSCOW. Aug 3 (Interfax) - A National Guard officer was injured during an unsanctioned opposition rally in central Moscow.
"Today in Moscow's Pushkinskaya Square, while providing public order a National Guard officer sustained an injury as a result of unlawful acts by a participant in the unsanctioned rally," National Guard spokesman Valery Gribakin told Interfax on Saturday.
The man injured the officer while offering active resistance, he said.
"The suspect was apprehended and handed over to police. The officer was hospitalized by a paramedic team," Gribakin said, adding that National Guard and police officers were taking exhaustive measures to ensure public order at the rally.
