MAGE doing seismics for Gazprom Neft off Sakhalin coast in 2019 with KRAB complex

MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - OJSC Marine Arctic Geological Expedition (MAGE) is doing 3D seismic surveys at the Ayashsky block in the Sea of Okhotsk in the 2019 surveying season using the Russian KRAB complex for Gazprom Neft Shelf LLC, a subsidiary of oil company Gazprom Neft , Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told Interfax.

The KRAB project is being carried out with the support of the Industry and Trade Ministry under the government program to develop shipbuilding and equipment for offshore field development for 2013-2030. The project includes the creation of a modern complex with autonomous seafloor stations to record four component (3 geophones and 1 hydrophone) CDP-3D seismic data and a container lab with a hardware and software system to read and process information.

"The KRAB project has already undergone a number of tests at Gazprom Neft sites. About 3,000 seafloor stations have now been produced. In the 2019 surveying season, MAGE is doing CDP-3D seismic survey work for Gazprom Neft at the Ayashsky block using the KRAB complex," Manturov said.
