Two men injured around Atambayev's house during special police operation admitted to hospital
BISHKEK. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Two men with injuries to the chest were admitted to the Chui Regional Hospital on Wednesday evening after being seized at ex-Kyrgyz president Almazbek Atambayev's house besieged by the special force of the Kyrgyz National Security State Committee (GKNB) trying to detain the former head of state.
"Ambulances took to hospital two men injured to the chest with rubber bullets. The patients are in a condition of medium severity. They are being treated by medics," Health Ministry spokesperson Zhyldyz Aigerchinova told Interfax.
She earlier revealed that five ambulance units had been sent to Atambayev's house. Local media reported ten casualties, including 24.kg journalist Aida Jumasheva.
The Kyrgyz Health Ministry still cannot say for sure how many people have been injured.
According to Kyrgyz media, doctors at the Chui Regional Hospital, the National Hospital and the Bishkek Scientific Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics are ready to receive more patients injured in the incident.
