Software developers should be responsible for vulnerability in their software - Russian Security Council
MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - The introduction of liability of software developers for vulnerabilities in their software will help counter cybercrime, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Oleg Khramov said.
"Any computer attack is carried out with the use of vulnerabilities in software and hardware. The introduction of liability of producers for the safety of their software and hardware will help settle this problem," Khramov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The Russian information infrastructure has been attacked over 4.3 billion times in 2018, Khramov said. The number of cyber attacks has increased 57% over the past six years.
