Oil shipment on Baku-Supsa pipeline down 17.5% in H1
BAKU. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Oil shipment on the Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) from Baku to Supsa fell 17.5% to 1.805 million tonnes in H1 2019, from 2.187 million tonnes in the same period last year, an oil market source told Interfax.
WREP delivered 3.749 million tonnes of oil to the Black Sea port of Supsa in 2018 as a whole.
The 837-kilometer pipeline, made of 530-mm pipe, entered operation on April 17, 1999. Built to export oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, it has capacity to ship 7.5 million tonnes of oil a year.
