Russia-Finland relations developing steadily across the board - Putin
HELSINKI. Aug 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is hoping to discuss issues of mutual interest on both the bilateral and the international agendas with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto.
"First and foremost, I would like, dear Sauli, to thank you for inviting me. Our relations with Finland traditionally develop quite progressively and across the board," Putin said at the meeting with Niinisto on Wednesday.
Russia is happy with the current level of relations with Finland. "There are contacts through all channels, including parliaments, governments, non-governmental organizations and of course, we traditionally pay great attention to humanitarian ties," Putin said.
