Poroshenko summoned for questioning to State Bureau of Investigations on Sept 3
KYIV. Aug 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations has summoned former President and currently leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko for questioning on September 3, Anzhelika Ivanova, the bureau's press secretary, told Interfax.
"I can only confirm that Poroshenko has been summoned for questioning on September 3," Ivanova said.
She declined to tell the exact time when Poroshenko is supposed to appear to be questioned or the criminal counts on which he is to undergo investigative procedures.
Kyiv's Pechersky District Court ruled earlier to sanction the questioning of Poroshenko at the State Bureau of Investigations using a lie detector. After Poroshenko was questioned at the bureau on August 12 as a witness in a case dealing with possible tax evasion during the purchase of the Pryamyi television channel, the bureau's director, Roman Truba, said the former president could be questioned next time with the use of a lie detector.
