Shoigu, French counterpart discuss upcoming session of bilateral council on security cooperation
MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministers of Russia and France, Sergei Shoigu and Florence Parly, had a telephone conversation on Tuesday to discuss preparations for a Moscow session of the Russian-French council on security cooperation, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The sides preliminarily exchanged views on a broad spectrum of regional problems in the context of developing Russian-French interaction," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"The discussion will continue in Moscow on September 9," it said.
Moscow will host a Russian-French Security Cooperation Council meeting in the "2+2" format with the participation of defense and foreign ministers on September 9.
