JBIC financing 125 mln euros of Mitsui investment in Arctic LNG 2

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) is arranging funding for Mitsui's purchase of a 10% stake in Arctic LNG 2, Tadashi Maeda, the bank's governor, said in a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"We have already committed to investing 125 million euros in Arctic LNG 2," he said.

Maeda told Interfax that this was funding for Mitsui which was part of a consortium that bought 10% of the liquefied gas project. "We've issued a loan to Mitsui," he said.

"We are a financial organization which is balancing between sanctions and the hopes of Mr. Mikhelson [Novatek ] CEO Leonid Mikhelson]," he said.
