Target prediction for 2020 GDP growth in Russia is 2%, but budget will assume 1.7% - Siluanov
MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The Russian GDP growth forecast for 2019 is 1.3%, with a forecast of 2% for 2020, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at a briefing during the Moscow Financial Forum.
"This year, we are envisaging a growth rate of 1.3%. This forecast remains, we are expecting growth to accelerate in H2, leading to this figure," he said.
"In the coming year, our target indicator is 2%, it is unchanged," the minister said.
Siluanov later told reporters that 2% GDP growth was a target prediction for 2020 and that the budget would be based on the Economic Development Ministry's baseline growth scenario of 1.7%.
