Russia's broad monetary base up 1.8% in August - Central Bank

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russia's broad monetary base increased 1.8% to 16.445 trillion rubles in August 2019 from 16.156 trillion rubles at the beginning of the month, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) said in information posted on its website.

The monetary base grew 2.4% in January-August 2019, from 16.063 trillion rubles at the start of the year.

It rose 2.0% in the 12 months to the end of August, from 16.119 trillion rubles on September 1, 2018. Year-on-year growth had been negative in the previous four months, starting May 1.
