Restrictions on advertising beer should be softened - head of FAS directorate
MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Beer would benefit from a softening of the advertising ban, Vladimir Mishelovin, according to the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service's (FAS) Fiscal Control Department.
"Beer today, in our opinion, should go together with wine [with regard to advertising], and prohibitive restrictions in this area should be weakened," Mishelovin said at a brewers' forum.
A number of relevant initiatives have been put forward recently. For instance, the Agriculture Ministry has proposed allowing wine to be advertised within 200 kilometers of wine production sites.
