Libertarian Party of Russia notifies Ministry of Justice of founding convention

MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - The organizing committee of the Russian Libertarian Party has notified the Ministry of Justice of its plans to hold a founding convention, the party's press secretary Dariya Petrushenko told Interfax on Monday.

"The convention will be a founding one, it will be another attempt to obtain official registration," Petrushenko said.

The party was set up in 2008 and has since made several attempts, all unsuccessful, to get registered officially. Nevertheless, the party is present in public politics: its activists, for example, have repeatedly applied for opposition rallies.

The convention will be held at 3/1 Stolyarny Pereulok in Moscow at 5 p.m. on November 3.
