Zelensky was ready for Normandy-format meeting on Sept 17, but Russia could not participate for technical reasons - Ukrainian FM
KYIV. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the French and German leaders, was prepared to attend top-level Normandy-format talks on September 17, but Russia said it could not take part in this meeting for technical reasons, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said.
"You know that President Zelensky was prepared for a meeting [in the Normandy format], and this meeting was supposed to be held yesterday. Unfortunately, the Russian Federation could not take part this time around for technical reasons, although both the French and German delegations were ready for this meeting," Prystaiko said at a joint session of the Verkhovna Rada Committees on Foreign Policy and Ukraine's Integration with the EU on Wednesday.
The parties are planning to work hard "to find the time for the four leaders" in the near future, Prystaiko said. "I'll be speaking to the German foreign minister later today," he said.
