Ukrainian, Danish FMs see Nord Stream 2 as threatening European security, environment
KYIV. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko and Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod have exchanged opinions on the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
"The parties acknowledged their shared opinion that this project threatens European security and the environment," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Thursday.
Kofod reaffirmed the new Danish government's unchanging position in support of Ukraine's course toward European integration and reform. The parties discussed steps toward restoring Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the statement said.
Prystaiko and Kofod met on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday morning.
