Russian Foreign Ministry says new anti-Russian sanctions abet terrorism

MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry considers new anti-Russian sanctions as an act abetting terrorism.

"Washington has publicly said that the sanctions penalized 'facilitation of the jet fuel supply to Russian forces operating in Syria'. Russian Aerospace Forces have been assisting the fight of government forces against terrorist groups since 2015, which means the United States has openly sided with terrorists," the ministry said in a comment posted on its website.

The ministry called the sanctions ineffective and said that Russia would keep on fighting terrorists in Syria.
