Kazakh Foreign Ministry awaiting guarantor countries' decision on whether new round of Syria talks necessary

NUR-SULTAN. Sept 30 (Interfax) - The Kazakh Foreign Ministry is as of yet unaware whether a 14th round of Syria talks in the Astana format will be necessary, ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov said at a press briefing on Monday.

"We are awaiting such information from the guarantor countries [Russia, Iran, and Turkey]. We will brief you as soon as we know," Smadiyarov said when asked whether the next round of the talks in the Astana format would be held in October.
