Lavrov's congratulation praises Interfax' credibility, impartiality in national, global coverage
MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has congratulated Interfax on its 30th anniversary, noting the agency's professionalism, efficiency, and impartiality.
"I cordially congratulate you and all Interfax employees on the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Agency. Having emerged at the straddling of two eras, Interfax has aligned its work with the values of a new, democratic Russia: the freedom of speech, openness, and glasnost," reads Lavrov's telegram to Interfax' General Director Mikhail Komissar.
Over a relatively short period of time, Interfax has become one of Russia's biggest authoritative news resources and gained international recognition, the minister said.
"Professionalism, efficiency, credibility, and unbiased coverage of the most important national and global events always were and remain the distinctive features of Interfax," Lavrov said.
