Putin to take part in Valdai Club session, hold extended meeting of the Supervisory Board of the "Russia - Country of Possibilities" non-profit in Sochi on October 3-4
MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will go on a working trip to Sochi on October 3-4, the presidential press service said on Wednesday.
On October 3, Putin will attend a plenary session of the 16th annual Valdai Discussion Club meeting dedicated to the theme "The Dawn of the East and the World Political Order."
Intermediate results of the discussion on the issue of the East in a broad sense, on which the club has been actively working over the whole past year, will be summed up at the meeting, according to the statement. The discussion will focus on the issues of East's growing influence on the world order, Middle East settlement problems, building cooperation in the Greater Eurasian space, and interaction in the Asia-Pacific Region. The Eastern track of Russian foreign policy will be prioritized.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte are expected to attend the plenary session along with Putin.
Separate meetings between the Russian president and the leaders of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines, as well as with the King of Jordan, are scheduled on the sidelines of the forum. The sides are expected to exchange opinions on pressing issues of the bilateral and regional agenda.
Putin will chair an expanded meeting of the 'Russia - Country of Opportunities' Supervisory Board at the Sirius educational center on October 4, the presidential press service added. The main results of the activity on the 'Russia - Country of Opportunities' platform will be revealed at the meeting, and the ideas of new projects for the platform will be discussed and further tasks for its development will be set.
The independent non-profit organization 'Russia - Country of Opportunities' was established by presidential decree on May 22, 2018. The key goals of the organization are providing conditions for a higher social mobility, ensuring individual and professional self-realization of people, as well as creating effective means of social mobility in Russia.
