UAE's Gulbahar Tobacco commissions first stage of tobacco plant in Yaroslavl region

YAROSLAVL. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Gulbahar Tobacco, a subsidiary of Gulbahar Tobacco International FZE, one of the UAE's leading tobacco producers, commissioned the first stage of a plant in Rostov in Russia's Yaroslavl region on Monday, the regional administration said in a statement.

The project will have three stages, and investment will total about 10 billion rubles. Fifty jobs are being created in the first stage; eventually, the plant will have 200 workplaces.

The company plans to sell the plant's production both in Russia and abroad. Most of the raw materials used there will be produced domestically.

The regional administration told Interfax that the project should be completed by the end of 2020.

Gulbahar Rus told Interfax that the first stage of the plant includes three production lines capable of producing 300, 350, and 400 packs of cigarettes per hour, respectively. The second stage will include another three such lines.
