Azerbaijani PM resigns
BAKU. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Novruz Mammadov has tendered his resignation as Azerbaijan's prime minister, Parliament Speaker Oktai Asadov said.
"For this reason, [Azerbaijani] President [Ilham] Aliyev has nominated Ali Asadov for the post of prime minister in parliament," the speaker said.
Prior to his nomination, Ali Asadov served as the president's economic advisor.
The parliament speaker additionally said he is confident that the president's choice will be useful both for the people and the state.
