Raspadksaya Mine launches longwall with 3 mln tonnes of coal

KEMEROVO. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Raspadskaya Mine, a coal mining division of Russian steel and mining group Evraz, has launched a longwall with reserves of 3 million tonnes of GZh gas fat coking coal, the company said in a statement.

The mine plans to work the longwall's reserves until the end of 2020. The new longwall is expected to produce more than 600,000 tonnes of coal this year.

Preparation of the longwall included more than 5.8 km of tunnelling. The new working front runs 2.16 km.

The coal mined at Raspadskaya Mine is washed at the eponymous plant and shipped to steel and coke-chemical plants in Russia, the CIS and Southeast Asia.
