Substitution of imports to continue in defense sector irrespective of sanctions - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Emphasis is put on import-substitution programs in the fulfillment of government defense orders, Russian Defense Minister and Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said in a teleconference on Tuesday.

"Irrespective of whether the Western economic sanctions are lifted or not, we will continue to create a technologically independent weaponry network," Shoigu said.
