Russia lifts ban on cheese imports from Belarusian factory

MOSCOW. Oct 9 (Interfax) - Russia's plant and animal health watchdog lifted the ban on imports of cheese made at the Lyuban branch of Slutsk Cheese-making Plant effective October 8.

This decision was made based on materials received from Belarus on an investigation into violations and information about measures taken to address these violations, Rosselkhoznadzor said. The watchdog also took into account a petition from the veterinary and food oversight department of the Belarusian Food and Agriculture Ministry.

Products from this plant shipped to Russia must have been made on October 8 or later and must be accompanied by an electronic veterinary certificate, Rosselkhoznadzor said.
