Zelensky calls against belaboring language issue in Ukraine

KYIV. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said it is his ideology to end the war in Donbas and raise Ukraine's economy, adding that he is against issues that divide Ukrainian society.

"My ideology is very simple: to end the war, lift the economy, and return the people here," Zelensky said during a press marathon in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said he believes it is necessary to react to all bills and initiatives that divide the country.

"You remember that [the conflict in] Donbas began with the language issue. Why do we raise this issue in a country we want to unite? At this table, on which, figuratively speaking, there is no food, there are people who are leaving the country, there is a war going on and people who speak different languages are in the trenches. Why do we raise this issue?" Zelensky said.
