Residents evacuated from village near collapsed dam in Krasnoyarsk territory

KRASNOYARSK. Oct 19 (Interfax) - The authorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory organized the evacuation of the residents of the Shchetinkino village adjacent to a dam that had collapsed, Krasnoyarsk Territory Government Chairman Yury Lapshin said.

"The evacuation of residents of the Shchetinkino village was organized, they are to be evacuated to Kuragino," Lapshin said.

A dam collapsed at a gold mine near the populated locality of Shchetinkino in the Krasnoyarsk Territory's Kuragino district on the Seiba River around 2 a.m. Moscow time on Saturday. The water flooded two temporary accommodation facilities for the workers of the gold mine in the village.
