Kazakhstan, Belarus agree to hold interregional cooperation forum
NUR-SULTAN. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Belarus intend to actively develop economic ties between regions of the two countries, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
"We intend to actively develop economic ties between the regions of our countries. To this end, a suggestion has been put forth to consider holding a forum of interregional cooperation. I am confident that our cooperation at the level of regions will also be successful and productive, because Kazakhstan and Belarus have a solid record of such interaction with other states," Tokayev said, reading out a joint statement adopted following talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is currently on an official visit to Nur-Sultan.
