Serbian president says 1 Pantsir-S system purchased

MOSCOW. Oct 25 (Interfax) - Serbia has purchased one Pantsir-S air defense missile and artillery system from Russia, the delivery is expected in the near future, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

"One Pantsir-S system has been purchased, ordered, and we're expecting it in our country in the near future. It is a fantastic system aimed at all flying objects, in particular, drones and cruise missiles. Our people are very pleased, they're undergoing training," Vucic told journalists at an exercise outside Belgrade. His speech was broadcast by the television channel Rossiya 24 (VGTRK).

The delivery could take place in one or two months, he said.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said on October 19 that Russia has a contract to supply Serbia with Pantsir-S air defense systems.
