Putin decorates Nicaraguan vice-president with Order of Friendship

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has bestowed awards on a number of foreign citizens, among them Nicaraguan Vice-President Rosario Murillo Zambrana, and several Russian honorary consuls.

According to the executive order posted in the official databank of legal information, Murillo Zambrana was decorated with the Order of Friendship for fostering the development of Russian-Nicaraguan relations.

Besides, Orders of Friendship were bestowed on William Craft Brumfield, a U.S. citizen and professor of Slavic studies at Tulane University, Benedict Okey Oramah, a Nigerian citizen and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank, and Russian honorary consuls to Crete and the Philippines, Nikos Daskalandonakis and Armi Lopez Garcia.

Medals of Pushkin were bestowed on some other foreigners, among them Valerie Solti, a British subject and chairperson of the Solti Foundation.
