If al-Baghdadi is really dead, Trump has made serious contribution to fight against int'l terrorism - Peskov
MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - If the reports about the killing of ISIL (banned in Russia) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi are true, then U.S. President Donald Trump has made a serious contribution to the fight against international terrorism, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"If the information about the death of al-Baghdadi is confirmed, we can say that the U.S. president has made a serious contribution to the fight against international terrorism," Peskov said.
As for allegations of journalists that the reports on al-Baghdadi's death had caused a strongly negative reaction of the Russian authorities, Peskov said, "The news itself cannot cause a negative response from the Russian authorities."
