Russian Senator Kosachyov met with Japanese MPs
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Chairman of the Russian Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee Konstantin Kosachyov said on his Facebook page that he had held a series of bilateral meetings in Japan.
"During my visit to Japan to attend the G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Meeting, I held a number of bilateral meetings. I conveyed a message from [Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina] Matviyenko to Speaker of the [Japanese] House of Councillors [Akiko] Santo and discussed interparliamentary cooperation with Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party's (LDP) parliamentary factor Mr. Seko," Kosachyov said.
Kosachyov also said that he had met with "Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Mr. Kitamura and one of the leaders of the 'Russian theme' in the Japanese establishment Mr. Suzuki."
The Russian senator described these meetings as detailed and constructive.
"In accordance with the decision adopted by [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo] Abe, the following year in bilateral relations will be dedicated to interregional exchanges," he said.
