Russian Aerospace Forces to receive first 5th-generation Su-57 before year-end - Defense Ministry

KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. Nov 8 (Interfax) - The first fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 fighter will be provided to the Russian Aerospace Forces before the end of this year, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said.

"As regards the program for building fifth-generation planes, the first serial Sukhoi Su-57 plane is practically ready to be sent to the forces. It will be provided to the Russian Aerospace Forces before the end of this year. We expect another such plane next year, and then production will increase dramatically," Krivoruchko told reporters on Friday.

The Russian Aerospace Forces is expected to receive 76 such planes by 2028, he said.

On Friday, Krivoruchko visited the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (KNAAZ, a branch of Sukhoi Company, a structure of the UAC), which builds Sukhoi Su-57 aircraft.
