Russia's Shoigu to discuss military-technical cooperation in Egypt

CAIRO. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Egypt where he intends to hold talks with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Rossiyana Markovskaya told reporters on Tuesday.

During the visit, Shoigu will lead Russia's delegation to the 6th meeting of the Russian-Egyptian commission for military-technical cooperation, she said.

"A separate meeting with Minister of Defense and Military Production of the Arab Republic of Egypt Col. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Zaki is also expected to take place as part of the joint commission's work," she said.

"Topics at the center of the upcoming talks will be international and regional security, the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, and priorities of military and military-technical cooperation between Russia and Egypt," Markovskaya said.
