MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russian exports of poultry products will total 55,000 tonnes in 2019, according to the head of the National Union of Poultry Farmers, Sergei Lakhtyukhov.

"This year we could reach the psychological number of 55,000 tonnes," he said at the Made in Russia Forum in Moscow.

In 10M 2019, Russia exported 37,000 tonnes of poultry products for $85 million, Lakhtyukhov said, adding that October was the busiest month, with over 10,000 tonnes.

The Resurs and Cherkizovo Groups are the biggest exporters, Lakhtyukhov said. The National Union of Poultry Farmers estimates that they account for more than 50% of total exports.

"As for our expectations, naturally, export volumes will grow," he said.
