Normandy-format summit may be held before end of 2019 - Kremlin aide
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. Nov 17 (Interfax) - A Normandy-format summit between the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will be held before the end of 2019, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.
"That's possible, yes. I think there is quite a chance to hold it this year. I can't give you any particular dates, because they are still being discussed, but, obviously, this will happen this year," Ushakov said on the Rossiya-1 (VGTRK) television channel, when asked whether a Normandy-format summit is possible now, considering that disengagement in Donbas has taken place.
Asked whether the leaders might meet at the end of November, Ushakov replied: "If you ask me, yes, it's going to be held before the end of the year."
Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov also said in an interview shown in the same program that a Normandy-format summit could be held before the end of the year. "We are more optimistic about the premise that it is going to be held before [the end of the year], because there are no particular dates so far," Peskov said.
