Belarusian rights activists report electoral violations
MINSK. Nov 18 (Interfax) - The elections to the Belarusian House of Representatives were not free and democratic and were held with major violations, Belarusian human rights activists said.
"Once again, we cannot say that the elections in the Republic of Belarus were held in accordance with international standards and the Belarusian national legislation or that they were free and democratic," Vladimir Labkovich, a coordinator of the campaign Human Rights Activists for Free Elections, told a press conference in Minsk on Monday.
"Unfortunately, the elections in Belarus were held with major violations," Labkovic said.
