Attempts being made to limit Russia's influence on global processes - Patrushev
MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Attempts to play down Soviet Union's role in the defeat of the Nazi Germany and to limit Russia's role on the world stage are growing insistent, according to Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.
"By falsifying history and destroying memorials to war heroes, the organizers of this process are seeking to reconfigure our memory, to play down the historic role of Russia and CIS countries as guarantors of Eurasian stability, and to limit influence on global processes," the press service of the Russian Security Council quoted Patrushev as saying at the annual meeting of secretaries of CIS security councils.
