New suspect in Moscow mass riots case Surovtsev arraigned
MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The Russian investigative Committee has arraigned July 27 case suspect Sergei Surovtsev for hitting a Russian Guard officer during a mass protest in Moscow, the agency said on its Youtube account.
"The participant in the July 27 protest in Moscow, Mr. Surovtsev, has been arraigned," the Investigative Committee said in a statement.
The Investigative Committee revealed earlier in the day that Surovtsev had been detained. The defendant was interrogated about circumstances of the alleged offence, it said. Surovtsev has been charged with an offence described in the Russian Criminal Code as "using violence against a representative of the authorities."
