Meeting of Ukrainian, Russian energy ministers in Vienna held as part of trilateral gas talks - Kyiv
KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak met in Vienna on November 28 as part of trilateral gas talks, according to a statement published on the Ukrainian government's information portal on Friday.
"The bilateral working meeting was held as part of the trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and the EU," it said.
Orzhel and Novak discussed the possibility of signing an agreement in line with European rules and agreed to expedite this work.
"Together with the European side, the [Ukrainian] government is insisting on its position in favor of European rules and a long-term contract," it said.
