Russian Security Council secretary meets with Shanghai mayor

SHANGHAI. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting with Mayor of Shanghai Ying Yong on Tuesday that he has confidence that a traditionally positive atmosphere will accompany upcoming Russian-Chinese consultations on strategic stability.

"We conduct such work every year. It yields fruit both in bilateral and in multilateral relations. I can single out close interaction between Russian and Chinese law enforcement agencies, as well as active military and military-technical cooperation," Patrushev said.

Patrushev arrived in Shanghai earlier today at the invitation of member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Yang Jiechi to take part in Russian-Chinese consultations on strategic stability. The Russian delegation includes representatives from the central office of the Russian Security Council, the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, and other Russian ministries and agencies.
