Thirteenth Russian-Turkish patrol inspects situation in northwest Syria
MOSCOW. Dec 3 (Interfax) - Russian military police and Turkey's Armed Forces have inspected the situation in northwest Syria during the latest joint patrol mission in a new district on the Syrian-Turkish border on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The joint patrol started at the Gharib customs checkpoint, covered some 60 kilometers within about two hours, and returned to its point of departure. The joint patrol passed through several Syrian towns and villages on the border," the ministry said in a statement obtained by Interfax.
"This was the 13th joint patrol of the Syrian-Turkish border in a border district several dozen kilometers east of Kobani," the statement said.
Helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces' Army Aviation carried out an aerial patrol of the area.
