Russian military detects every ballistic missile launch in 2019
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - The Russian Space Forces have detected every ballistic missile launch performed inside and outside Russia in 2019, according to Aerospace Forces Deputy Commander Andrei Yudin.
"In 2019, the Space Forces detected all launches of foreign and domestic ballistic missiles and space rockets," Yudin said in an interview with the Russian Defense Ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
He also said that crews of the Plesetsk Cosmodrome performed 11 launches of space rockets and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, six rockets carrying Russian military satellites and three intercontinental ballistic missiles were launched in 2019.
In addition, the Space Forces controlled the delivery to orbit of 463 satellites, including 25 domestic and 438 foreign ones, and performed over 350,000 satellite control sessions.
