Putin: Orbital satellite cluster renewed, multilayer missile attack warning system capabilities expanded

SOCHI (Bocharov Ruchei). Dec 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has highlighted the precision of the operation of the common space system satellites, which are timely spotting the launches of ballistic missiles from any military bases.

"Our orbital group of military and dual-purpose satellites has significantly renewed in recent years, the capacity of the space multilayer missile attack warning system has been largely increased. Satellites of the common space system are timely detecting the launches of ballistic missiles from the military bases and from the basins of the World Ocean," Putin said at one of the traditional conferences dealing with military issues.

Satellites are also swiftly transmitting the data to the country's leadership and to the control boards, he added. "The efficiency of the work of this very important link of the aerospace defense has been reconfirmed at the Grom (Thunder) 2019 command and staff strategic drills," Putin said.
